Spring
In April, 41 students participated in our local National Federation of Music Clubs’ Gold Cup Festival. All of our students received a Superior this year for the third year in a row! Additionally, Jack Ferry took part in the competition event and was awarded both a camp scholarship and a college scholarship. This was Jack’s 14th consecutive superior and he was awarded the Grand Cup for this achievement.
Also in April, Carson Howe (“Joe”), Elliott Jenner (“Tom”), and Joe Weidig (“George”) were in their school’s production of School House Rock Live!. Joe appeared as “Hugo” and Analiesa Hollowood was in the ensemble of Tuck Everlasting with Young People’s Theatre in May.
At the end of the school year, Francis Howell Central choir members, Carson and Elliott were both recognized for their contributions to the choir program at the school. Carson received a Director’s Award and Elliott was awarded a Silver Shield of Excellence, which is awarded yearly to one student in each department. Jack was awarded the Knightpride Bandsman award at Francis Howell North. This award is the highest award given by the band!

In June, Jack attended the Jim Widner Big Band Camp at UMSL on scholarship and Ava Henson appeared as “Middle Anna” in Frozen at Wentzville Christian Church.
Yash S. and Shreeya S. participated in the Mid America Music Association festival in Kansas City in July and Shreeya was awarded a Superior for her performance!
Lacey Fowler appeared in the ensemble of The Muny’s production of On Your Feet! in August.
Class of 2021
At the end of the summer, we had a studio recital for high school voice & piano students and sent off our seniors:
Jack is attending the University of Missouri – Columbia and majoring in Music & Business. Jack received a piano talent scholarship from Mizzou in addition to the scholarship he was awarded from Federation in the spring.
Elliott is pursuing an Associate in Fine Arts at St. Charles Community College.
Carson is attending St. Charles Community College and working toward an Associate in Criminal Justice. He will also be joining alum, Ethan White (’20) in Ambassadors of Harmony!
Luke Coffman is attending the University of Colorado – Boulder and pursuing degrees in Physics, Mathematics, and Economics.
Hannah Sanders is majoring in Elementary Education at the University of Missouri – Columbia.
Fall
Jane Childs, Analiesa, and Joe were all selected for the Metro 8 SATB Honors Choir, and Joe qualified for an audition for the State Honor Choir. Emma Williss was selected for the Metro 8 SSAA Honors Choir.
We had a fall recital in October at Calvary Church. It was windy, but fun! It was great to see some of our virtual students in person.
Shreeya was asked to sing the national anthem for her school’s Veteran’s Day ceremony and Yash played a piano solo for his school’s mass. I know that several other piano students were asked to play for their music classes at school throughout the fall semester as well.
Holidays/Winter
During the holiday season, Hayden Holz played a piano solo for his school’s advent service. Joe (“Santa”) and Alyssa Riegerix (Ensemble) appeared in Elf with Young People’s Theatre, while Ethan & Carson performed with Ambassadors of Harmony in their annual Christmas show the same weekend.
Analiesa & Lacey advanced to the semifinal round of the Fox Performing Arts Charitable Foundation’s Teen Talent Competition. They will each compete in January for the chance to move on to the final round at The Fabulous Fox Theatre.
Congrats to all of our students on their musical accomplishments this year! I’m looking forward to an exciting year of performances and competitions in 2022!
